How does the programme work?

•  Our highly qualified and experienced coaches come into the school during curriculum time to offer Year 3 children tennis coaching
•  Children are taught how to play the game in 1-hour sessions once-per-week for 3 weeks
•  2 coaches usually come to each session and with the help of the class teacher are able to give the children lots of individual help
•  All children are encouraged, and we pay particular attention the ones who find it the most difficult
•  Subsidised exit routes are provided for every single child. This will include opportunities such as after-school clubs, taster sessions at the tennis centre and free Mini Tennis lessons
•  Talented children are offered the opportunity to join our Tennis Academy
•  Every child who joins our coaching programme is offered excellent advancement opportunities

Around 500 children in 9 local infant schools receive curriculum coaching each year. The schools are:

•  Foxhills, Ashurst
•  Oakfield, Totton
•  Orchard, Dibden Purlieu
•  Marchwood
•  Calmore, Totton
