The Southampton Community Tennis Centre is a new project aimed at breathing life into the tennis courts at Southampton Sports Centre. There are currently 12 tennis / netball courts at the facility, all of which are floodlit. Over the coming months, the project will develop in the following ways:
You can also hire courts at the facility for casual use.
As the project evolves and the facility becomes similar to our existing operations at the Totton & Eling and Fleming Park Tennis Centres, participants can expect to see:
- Events and Tournaments for Juniors and Adults
- Cross-city competition, e.g. leagues involving players at Totton and Fleming Park
- Membership with benefits such as mix-ins and teams in local leagues
- Facility improvement (depending upon funding)
- The establishment of a "traditional club" with open-access and community values
