NEW TENNIS PROGRAMME IN SOUTHAMPTON

LTA DCA / CCA Qualified and Licensed coaches

Full- or Part-Time positions available from September 2008

Serving Tennis, a management company who work together with local authorities in Hampshire, currently operate 2 major facilities in the Southampton area - the Totton & Eling and Fleming Park Tennis Centres. The facilities are community-focussed and provide opportunities for a wide variety of people to play tennis.

In September 2008, we will be taking over a third facility with 12 outdoor, floodlit courts. There will be a large schools programme initially feeding into a brand new development programme with coaching for all levels of Mini Tennis. There will also be a focus on introducing adults to tennis. This is an exciting project with the opportunity to play a central role in the creation of a brand new community programme at the heart of Southampton.

The 2 centres we currently run are also part of an ongoing expansion project and thus a wide variety of opportunities exist.

The position on offer is flexible and can be moulded to suit the right candidate.

We envisage offering anywhere between 10 and 30 hours of contracted work per week, depending on the coach. There will also be the opportunity to earn additional income through individual coaching above the contracted hours. The salary we offer will be generous but will depend upon the experience of the candidate.

All coaches within our operation are offered continual professional development during a weekly coaching meeting and mentoring from a PCA coach.

For further information about our operations, please log on to www.tennis-service.net.

Salary - £8,000 p.a.

Working Areas - Totton & Waterside / Eastleigh / West Southampton

Full-time position for 12 months, with possible career progression thereafter

The Tennis Apprenticeship scheme exists to provide young people, usually already tennis players, with the opportunity to work within a tennis environment, gaining invaluable experience within the field of coaching, business and administration. The position is funded through a partnership between the Totton & Eling Tennis Centre and the Hampshire and Isle of Wight Lawn Tennis Association.

Training and development is of the highest priority and the scheme is designed to provide continual learning for the successful candidate.
