Further Information
Leagues operate for all ability levels within the club. They run over a 2-month period with promotion / relegation at the end of a period. Members are entitled to free entry into the leagues, but must arrange court fee payment with the leisure centre.
Participants will be emailed a list of phone numbers of people in their leagues and are then entitled to call them to arrange matches at a mutually convenient time. These matches are sure to be both fun and competitive and will be an enjoyable experience for all.
Matches are played over 2 sets and therefore there can be a draw. Every match that is played will earn the participant 1 point irrespective of the score. A further point is available to each player if the match is drawn, whereas if there is a winner, (s)he will earn a further 2 points. If both players agree, a match can be reduced to 2 shorts sets (i.e. first to 4 games rather than 6 - at 3 games all, 1 player either needs to win a further 2 games, or else a tiebreak is played at 4 games all).
Wherever possible, the leagues function on a pyramid basis. This means that there will be two Division 2's, three Division 3's and so on. The benefit
of this system is that even if you are not promoted or relegated, you will be moved across and thus will play different players each time!
If participants for some reason do not play any matches or are consistently difficult for opponents to get hold of, the organiser reserves the right to remove them from the league.
