The Totton Tennis Academy has been in operation since October 2006 with the kind support of our schools programme sponsor INEOS Capital Ltd and the Hampshire & IOW LTA. The Academy has developed a good reputation for effective talent identification and professional coaching programmes. Throughout the school year, our coaches deliver curriculum-time coaching to all children in Years 2 & 3 in 18 local junior and infant schools. All children are offered a subsidised route into tennis, however, for the few children who show an exciting raw talent (usually around 2-3 per class of 30), we send out a personal invite to parents to allow their children to attend some highly subsidised introductory talent identification sessions.

As children develop, the Academy then presents players with the opportunity to develop their abilities through involvement in our coaching programme twice per week. Committed to technical improvement, each Academy player will want to play tennis competitively. As each player progresses within Academy groups, there is the opportunity to join our performance squads and to receive subsidised individual coaching.

Special Academy subsidies are offered to children for as long as funding allows, often up to 6 months. We also ensure that all children showing the commitment to attend 2 sessions per week receive a standard 10% discount on their group coaching fees.
